Get Subscribers!
As explained in my last post [Why one can not rely on Social Media or SEO for traffic] one can not really rely on specific traffic sources. If you’re a website owner, then you must definitely experiment with all possible traffic sources. Most of us end up relying on Search Engines to rank our websites or web pages, but we tend to ignore the regular updates made to the search algorithms. Most of us even manage to get a large number of likes or followers on our social media profiles, staying active on Forums, commenting on blogs and doing all sorts of things to get traffic. But, do we ever ask ourselves that is it worth it?
I believe that relying solely on the traditional traffic sources like Forums, Blogs, Social Media and SEO is not right and should be avoided. They do get a lot of traffic if done in the right way, but in general, they don't result out to be efficacious for the blogger. When alternatives are thought for the same, the very first thing that comes to my mind is Email Marketing.
Email marketing ensures you a good traffic in terms of targeted numbers. Once you succeed in making a good and targeted email list and keep your subscribers updated about your blog posts, you would definitely get a good amount of traffic after that. Mail Chimp:
Mail chimp is one of the most highly used free email marketing services. It happens to have a user friendly interface and provides free services up till 500 subscribers. Mail Chimp lets its users create multiple campaigns, get detailed reports on the basis of evaluations and other paid services like auto-responders and bulk mailing. Mail chimp has some really good templates that can be used to send news letters, promotional mails and even the RSS feeds of different websites/blogs.
The plug-in let's you insert widgets on different pages of your blog and even amid your posts.

Hello Bar
Hello Bar is different from all other plug-ins mentioned in this list. This plug-in ads a long rectangular strip on the top of your WordPress site/blog. It can have a link to some page or simply request the user to enter his/her Email and name. The Hello Bar gets displayed every time a user logs on to the required website. In order to check the subscriptions received or the click-through rate, the user is required to log in on the plug-in's website and find the reports that he requires. Hello bar works really well for getting subscribers.

Scroll Triggered Box:
Scroll triggered box is a plug-in which lets you get in touch with the users who engage on your website. The plug-in comes with a number of themes that can be set for the sliding pop-up. The user defines the positioning and content that is to be displayed on the website. It lets you set a percentage of screen portion that must be scrolled in order to enable the sliding pop-up to show up. All the new subscriber Emails are mailed to the admin' Email address.
